With Temple of the Silent Storm’s structured paid tournaments taking place this past week in a new, limited time format, many players participated in the tournament. This was a test of sorts for ArenaNet, who wanted to see exactly what players thought about the 1 team vs. 1 team format and the weekly rotation. Jonathan Sharp, GW2 Game Designer, shared his thoughts on the tournament’s success in a couple of short forum posts yesterday:

Hey guys!

Just letting you know that our testing of Temple of the Silent Storm ( and 1 team vs. 1 team) has been a great success!

We’re pleased to announce that we will be extending this test another week, as it has proven to be very popular among players.

Biggest thing to take away – the format is moving from 8 teams to 2 teams. Other changes will also be coming. Watch for the blog.
